GRANDMA APPLE CAKE

The taste of home, the scent of Sunday morning when we woke up for breakfast, grandma's apple pie, a dessert that makes you feel like a child

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 golden apples
  • 135gr of flour 
  • 1 egg 
  • 100g of sugar
  • 50g seed oil
  • 80gr Apple juice
  • Lemon peel
  • lemon juice
  • 1 sachet of baking powder for cakes
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • cinnamon QB

METHOD

First we peel the apples and cut into wedges, then once done put them in a bowl with a little lemon juice to prevent them from blackening.

Put the eggs with the sugar in a bowl and whip them until they are fluffy, then add the lemon zest and seed oil and mix again. (fig1)

Add the apple juice, cinnamon and flour together with the baking powder, both sifted, to the mixture and mix until the mixture is smooth and soft (must write fig. 2).

At this point, take half of the apples, lightly flour them and add to the mixture and mix, so as to mix everything well.

Transfer everything to a 20cm pan, previously greased and floured, or lined with parchment paper. (fig 3)

Once the mixture is well leveled, add the other half of the apples on top, arranging them well on the surface (fig. 4), after all the eye wants its part too !!!

We sprinkle the surface with sugar and add three honey curls.

We bake at 180 degrees for 45 min.


TIPS

by flour the apples we avoid that they all go down to the base of the mixture during cooking, instead of cinnamon if you want you can use Quatre épices French, will give it an extra touch !!!
