Montegonzi is a small village in the municipality of Cavriglia in the province of Arezzo and is located on an eastern spur of the Chianti hills, in the upper Arno valley Among woods and olive trees surrounded by the most beautiful landscape of the Chianti hills is the "Podere Boggioli" farm, an ancient farm that produces extra virgin olive oil typical of the area around Montegonzi, renowned for the high quality of its oil. Boggioli is also the name of this small town perched on a ridge overlooking the splendid Arno valley, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view.
Keith Richmond, has transformed his passion into a job, owner of the farm since 1975, has completely restored and gradually increased the size until it reaches the current surface of about 42 hectares for a total of about 1100 olive trees. The varieties are a traditional blend of the mill, moraiolo, leccinoe pendolino, grown without irrigation and without the use of chemical insecticides or fungicides. As for the olive harvest, it is done essentially by hand, with the fruit pulled down on long nets stretched under the trees, all normally in the first 15 days of November and transported to the mill every two days, where the olives are processed , in 3 phases and stored in the orciaia at a controlled temperature.
