Merlot and Lagrein are not genetically related, but they are soul mates: they both love low altitude, warm, sandy or clayey soils and very sunny, Thurnhof's Merlau is a liaison of great aromas and distinct aromas, it is a red wine from Lagrein grapes, coming from the Merlau vineyard, south of Bolzano. A fruity wine with hints of raspberry and violet, elegant and well-structured, with soft tannins and lots of freshness. Merlot Lagrein never gives up on a tasty téte-à-téte, a beautiful interpretation, suitable for any meal.
The Berger family has lived and worked on the Thurnhof farm for 160 years. From Franz Mumelter to Andreas Berger. Six generations, one goal: the production of wines with character. Churches, castles, vineyards and a farm with a thousand-year history. The landscape between the Virgolo hill and the Flavon Castle (Haselburg) is full of charm and full of secrets. The slopes have been planted with vines for many centuries, and Thurnhof continues to pass on this tradition with pride and conviction.
