The Pigato is a dry white wine. Straw yellow color with golden reflections. Ample, intensely fruity, fragrant, persistent aroma, with clear hints of plum, ripe peach and honey on a mineral background, slight hints of yellow flowers, moss and wood resins; dry but soft flavor, broad on the palate, delicately warm, savory, full-bodied, with excellent persistence and with a pleasant bitter "base" reminiscent of peach seed and bitter honey.
Antonio Basso's Durin farm is located in the municipality of Ortovero where the winery is located and today consists of 16 hectares of vineyards where the native qualities of the area are grown (Pigato, Vermentino, Rossese, Ormeasco, Lumassina , Granaccia and Alicante), located on the terraces of the hills of the Arroscia Valley. The "first" bubble created according to the classic method produced with local grapes was born in 2010, after fifteen years of studies and an enormous passion for this type of wine, finding its best setting in the Toirano Caves.
