Famoso is a semi-aromatic grape of the Gewürztraminer family. The birth of its name is very bizarre: the peasants who worked and drank it did not know its origin or name, therefore, not knowing what to call it and having to refer to such a particular wine, they called it in dialect 'e famous' which means precisely 'the famous'. The 'VIP' is carefree, its aromatic charge never becomes nauseating because it is always supported by a beautiful freshness. Slightly bitter finish, very pleasant, characteristic of the dry vinification of an aromatic vine.
The La Sabbiona winery is part of the wineries in the Oriolo dei Fichi area. The vineyard mainly cultivates the typical grape varieties of Romagna: Albana and Sangiovese, but also some less common ancient native vines. The care of the vineyard, the selection and manual harvesting of the best grapes and the vinification through the most modern technologies give life to DOC and IGT wines typical of Romagna, all the phases of wine production are directly followed by the Altini family, which has made of daily commitment and continuous training and research in the vineyard and in the cellar in respect of nature, the basis of their work to bring authentic wines to the table, capable of reflecting the identity of the territory.
